Appliance Giant Bosch has been given a clean bill of health by European researchers investigating appliance labelling across Europe.
Focusing on refridgeration products, researchers from the Europan Committee of Domestic Equipment Manufacturers (CECED) bought 80 appliances - representing 40 manufacturers - in various European Union countries to check the accuracy of the labels they carries.
CECED initiated the appliance testing for energy label evaluation (ATLETE) project together with the European commission in 2009 to improve market surveillance and increase energy efficiency.
Four models covering Bosch were included in the test and all four models were certified as bearing fully accurate information in all categories of the European energy label.
Some 27 countries, including Bosch, of the 40 manufacturers whose products were tested signed a voluntary agreement beforehand that should the test highlight deficiencies in the information they showed on the energy label they would immediately correct it.
